UCHC/Storrs and Regional Campus Incentive Grants (UCIG)
Through the combined efforts of Gregory J. Anderson, Vice Provost for Research, Storrs and Regional Campuses and Marc Lalande, Associate Dean for Research, Planning and Coordination, UCHC and, with the support of the Clinical and Translational Research Award (CTSA) planning group, approximately $600,000 is being made to faculty to promote inter-campus research programs among the researchers at the UCHC and other UConn campuses. Proposals emphasizing interdisciplinary interactions that bring together experts from diverse disciplines, and that promote new interactions will receive preference. Priority will be given to research proposals that bring investigators from two or more disciplines together and that can be incorporated into the CTSA application. The competition is opened to faculty members in a tenure/tenure track appointment as well as Associate of Full Professors in Residence and Associate or Full Research Professors. [Full Article]
2007 Report of Sponsored Project Activity
To assist the University community in assessing the results of all sponsored activities, the office of the Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Education has published a report detailing sponsored research endeavors for the 2007 fiscal year. University faculty submitted 1397 new proposals with overall requested budgets totaling $425 million. [Full Article]
Research Foundation Spring 2008 Faculty Large Grant Awards
Vice Provost Gregory J. Anderson and the Research Advisory Council are pleased to announce the recipients of the Spring 2008 Faculty Large Grant Awards. The goal of these awards, as with all internal funding programs, is to help faculty move into a better position to apply for and receive extramural funding for their research and scholarly activities. For the Faculty Large Grant competition, the Council received 61 proposals totaling over $1.2 million and made 34 awards totaling over $575,000.
